How to Make a Glow Stick in Minecraft Education Edition: TUTORIAL
Minecraft Glow Stick is a luminous addition to Minecraft education that can be lit up when it is in the player’s hand for a limited time.
The Minecraft: Education Edition is a game-based learning platform that inspires creative, inclusive learning through play, and promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive digital environment.
You can explore the new blocky worlds that unlock new ways to take on challenges and craft blocks which produce various elements.
To make a Glow stick in Minecraft Education Edition – Open the Crafting Table and Place 6x polyethylene in the right and left columns. In the middle column, insert 1x hydrogen peroxide, 1x Dye, and 1x luminal. Once you set up, a 1x Glow stick will appear on the right side of the crafting grid.
Note: You cannot craft Glowsticks in Survival versions and can only be manually crafted from items collected in Creative mode. Use the Bedrock or craft them in the Education version to get hold of the item.

What are Glow Sticks in Minecraft?
Glow Sticks in Minecraft are a special form of stick that players can light up in the dark. It has a time limitation and can only be lighted for a short amount of time.
You cannot enchant them with unbreakable or repairing enchantments as durability cannot benefit from these enchantments.
There are sixteen Glow Sticks to choose from and are based on the reflection of the variation of dyes available in the game (eg. Reed, blue, lime green, etc)

Elements Required to Make Glow Sticks
- 20x hydrogen
- 10x carbon
- 3x nitrogen
- 2x oxygen
You will then need to turn all of these elements into six Polyethylene, one Hydrogen Peroxide, one Luminol, and one dye with the color of your choosing.

How to Make a Glow Stick
Follow the steps below to craft:
Step 1: Create Essential Compounds
Before we start to craft a Glow stick, we need to create some essential compounds such as polyethylene, hydrogen peroxide, and luminal.
To make these compounds, Open the 3×3 compound creator –
- 6x Polyethylene (C2H4) – On the 2nd Row, Put 10x carbon in the left and 20x hydrogen in middle of the grid. 6x polyethylene will appear on the right.
- 1x Luminal (C8H7N3O2) – Place 2x oxygen on the left of the 3rd row. On the 2nd Row, place 8x carbon in the left, 7x hydrogen in the middle, and 3x nitrogen in the right grid.
- 1x Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) – Fill the 2nd row left with 2x hydrogen and 2x oxygen on the middle of the compound creator.
Step 2: Craft the Glow Stick
Next, Once you have got all the compounds ready, open the 3×3 crafting table.
- Put the Polyethylene on the right and left columns going down.
- Next, Insert the Hydrogen Peroxide in the top slot.
- Place your dye in the middle slot and
- Insert the Luminol on the bottom of the last slot.
Now, Wait for a second, and a 1x white Glowlight will appear on the right side of your crafting table.
Step 3: Move the Glow Stick to your Inventory
Once you have crafted the stick, drag and drop the newly crafted item into your inventory and you can click on the glow stick and it will be in your hand ready for use.
How to know if the Glow Stick Works?
To find out if your glow stick is working – Visit a dark room and Shake it lightly for a mesmerizing light effect, which takes place due to the ongoing chemical reaction inside the Glowstick.
Glowsticks in Minecraft Education Edition function and appear as they do in real life. When you move the Glowstick up and down, a durability bar appears underneath to let you know it is a temporary light source.
Minecraft Command to Get a Glow Stick
There are no /give commands to get the glow stick as it is not available in the Survival or java edition. It can only be crafted in the education edition
You need to enable Cheats to get hold of the glow sticks in Survival mode, or in Education Edition.
How to use Glow Sticks
To use Glow Sticks, move the item to the Hotbar, and right-click on it.
Players can use the compound creator in the Minecraft Education Edition to craft tons of compounds from elements that can be used for crafting their favorite items and tools.
