Combining the two crossbows using an Anvil/ Grindstone/ Crafting Table to get the repaired crossbow on the right side of the interface.
To Repair a Crossbow in Minecraft: Open the Anvil UI and Drag the Damaged crossbow to the second slot. Place the Fully-Repaired Crossbow in the 1st Slot. The repaired item will appear on the results slot of the interface. Congratulations! You have successfully repaired your Crossbow.

Step 2: Drag the Damaged crossbow to the second slot.
Place the damaged crossbow on the anvil. You can do this by right-clicking the anvil, which will open an interface.
Step 3: Place the Fully-Repaired Crossbow in the 1st Slot
Place the new crossbow on the anvil by right-clicking the anvil to open an interface.
Step 4: Rename the Crossbow (Optional)
You can also rename your crossbow. To rename, click on the “Name” field and enter the name you want to give your crossbow.
Step 5: Congratulations! You have successfully repaired your Crossbow.
Next, take the repaired crossbow by dragging it out of the anvil interface to your inventory.

Click on the grindstone and it will automatically repair your crossbow.
Step 5: Retrieve Your Repaired Crossbow
Once your crossbow has been repaired, retrieve it from the grindstone by right-clicking on the grindstone and moving it to your inventory.

To open the Crafting Table UI in Minecraft, Right-click on a placed crafting table block.
