How to Get Vines & Cave Vines in Minecraft: GlowBerry Tutorial

Cave vines are new vegetation added in the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Update generated in Lush Caves and they grow on the ceiling.

Vines are plants without non-solid nature and can be walked through these blocks as they aren’t in any material form.

Cave Vines are not a very commonly used item in Minecraft but it has their own fair share of uses and they should always be available in your inventory for later use.

To Get Cave Vines in Minecraft: Find an Azalea Tree and dig underneath its roots to go down to the Lush Cave Biomes. Harvest the Glow berries Vines from Cave Vines. The Glow Berries will float on the ground. Collect them before they disappear and drop them into your inventory.

Where can you get Cave vines?

Cave vines are spawned naturally hanging from the ceilings in lush caves. Berries grow on Cave Vines from the ceiling.

You can apply Bone Meal to the Cave Vine to grow Glow Berries.

Where to Find Lush Caves

You wouldn’t be able to find the lush cave on the Surface F3. You need to be underground and Hit the F3 keypad, it will show you the Lush Caves Biome.

The biomes generate at any altitude given they are forested biomes on the surface and on the underground, you will find your Lush Caves.

To Locate Lush Caves:

• Find a Flowering Azalea Tree
• Go to the Tree Roots
• Use a Hoe and continue digging the Dirt Blocks
• Dig into the Tree Roots Underground till you reach the Biome

How to get Cave Vines in Minecraft

To get the regular Vines (not the Cave Vines), here’s how:

Step 1: Find a Lush Cave

Find an Azalea Tree and dig underneath its roots to go down to the Lush Cave Biomes.

Alternatively, You can also find an Underground opening to a Cave to see if there is a Biome below the surface.

Step 2: Harvest the Glow berries from Cave Vines

Underneath the Biome, you will find Cave Vines hanging from the ceiling connecting to rooted dirt up to the Azalea Tree.

• Pocket Edition (PE): Tap on the berries.

Step 3: Pick up the Berries

How to Plant GlowBerry Vines in Lush Caves

• Find a Ceiling to Grow Berry
• From your inventory, select Berry Plants
• Plant it on the Ceiling (Any Blocks)
• Apply Bone Meal on them
• It will spawn Glow berries on the Vines

For every Growth of 1 Block of the Cave Vines, there is a chance of growing 1 Glow berries. (2-26 Blocks Long)

You can increase the length of cave vines and make the process faster by applying bone meal on them too.

How to Get GlowBerry in Chest

Look for an Abandoned Mineshaft and find a Minecart with Chest.

To open the Mineshaft Chest:

Position your + Sign pointer to the chest.

How to Get Vines in Minecraft:

You can get regular vines by clipping vines growing from a tree.

Step 1: Locate Growing Vines

First, you need to find vines Vines that are developed or grown in Minecraft. Usually, they can be found hanging on a tree.

Step 2: Select Shears

Go to your Hotbar and select the shears in your hand.
