Step 1: Locate a Village
You first need to find a Village in your Minecraft world.
In Survival mode, search for a high ground nearby and climb up to look off into the distance. Use the Spyglass to help you look around for villages.
In Creative mode, follow the same process but this time, you can fly around and up to the clouds to find the villages.
Step 2: Search for Gardens in the Village
After you have found a village, explore and look around the village for patches of crops growing in usually a fenced area.
The potatoes usually grow in the garden along with other crops such as wheat, and carrots, among other crops.
Step 3: Dig up and Harvest the Potato Plant
Next, you can harvest the potato plant by digging it up.

Important: Bonemeal doesn’t work on fully-grown potato plants, and using too much bonemeal on one plant alone can cause it to grow into a poisonous potato plant.
