How to Make an Aether Portal & GlowStone Portal: TUTORIALS

Every Minecraft game starts in the Overworld, and that’s where you’ll be playing most of the time.

However, to travel to other dimensions, you have to build portals.

A Minecraft Portal is a structure through which the player can travel between the different dimensions by entering from one side and ending up on different sides of the world.

It is kinda like a Black hole.

To make an Aether Portal known as Glowstone Portal: Create a Rectangular frame (4×5+4 [14 blocks] of Glowstone). Use the Bucket to Gather Water from nearby water biomes. Place the bucket of water in between the frame to activate the aether portal/ Glowstone Portal.

What is a Glowstone Portal?

A Glowstone Portal is a structure that leads to Aether’s realm. It is the direct opposite of the Nether where it is highly dangerous, and the player is going to be on their own. Alternatively, Aether is peaceful and is high up in the sky with new items, blocks, mobs, and inventory accessories.

It’s meant to be a floating island heaven opposite the dangerous and chaotic Nether (aka Hell)

Materials Required to Make Glowstone / Aether Portal

• 14 Glowstone Blocks
• Bucket

How to make Minecraft Aether Portal?

It’s quite simple to create a Glowstone Portal. Here’s how:

Step 1: Place 4 Glowstone Blocks on the Ground

First, put down on the ground 4 blocks of Glowstone in a straight line.

Step 2: Put 4 Blocks on Each corner.

Place 4 Blocks vertically on each corner to build a structure.

Step 3: Cover the Middle Structure with Glowstone Blocks

Next, to complete the structure, place 2 blocks in the middle making it a (4×5) structure.

Step 4: Use the Bucket to Gather Water

From the inventory, take out your bucket and get some water from nearby ponds or water biomes.

Step 5: Put the Water Bucket in the Middle

Place the bucket of water in between the structure just like a Nether portal.

You have successfully created a portal to the Aether realm.

How to Enter the Aether Portal?

Walk up to the Portal through the blue swirls and a loading screen will appear as “Ascending to the Aether. Loading Terrain.”

You are now in the aether dimension.

You will be greeted with a very peaceful, light green, and serene environment. It was meant to be created as a “Heaven of Minecraft” opposite to Nether.

What will you find on Aether Portal?

You will find many mobs and items which look more angelic such as Cats and Pigs with wings, Blueberries, etc.

Even the dirt is named Aether Dirt, Logs as Skyroots logs, Skyroot Swords.

And one quick fun fact: as mentioned before, it is meant to be a heaven on Minecraft, so when you fall from the Aether portal, you will fall down to the Overworld.

So, the realm literally exists above the overworld a heaven dimension.

The Aether Portals are similar in design to the Nether Portals. Replace the Obsidian blocks with Glowstone Blocks and Portals were activated by Flint and Steel to activate a Nether Portal.

In the aether, you just need to pour a Bucket of Water inside the frame to activate the Portal.
