How to Make Glowstones in Minecraft: Get Glowstone Dust
Minecraft Glowstone is a light-emitting block found in the Nether that can make your house a much brighter place.
You can use it as a light source to help you see in the dark, or make powerful potions.
Also, if you have an underground house, Glowstone is important to use as a Light source since Torch won’t be able to light up.
When you mine a Glowstone Block, it will drop 2-4 Glowstone Dust which can craft flowstone blocks themselves or make potions more potent.

How to Make Glowstone in Minecraft
In this tutorial, I will show you how to craft a Glowstone in Minecraft with step-by-step instructions, so as to follow along easily.
Step 1: Open the 3×3 Crafting Table (Press E)

First of all, open up your crafting table by pressing E.
It will be a 3×3 crafting grid with 9 boxes in total.
Step 2: Add 4x Glowstone Dust on the Table

Next, you need to add the Glowstone dust from your inventory to the crafting table.
The recipe is as follows:
- In the 2nd Row, Place 1 Glowstone Dust on the Top right Box and 1 Glowstone Dust on the 2nd Box
- In the 3rd Row, Place 1 Glowstone Dust on the First Box and 1 Glowstone Dust on the 2nd Box
Note: You can use any row for your recipe, but it needs to stick with the position of the Glowstone dust, as any displacement won’t craft you a Glowstone
Step 3: Drop the Glowstone into the Inventory

Once you have successfully followed the recipe, a Glowstone will appear on the Results Box on the right.
Simply, Drag and drop the Glowstone into your inventory and you are free to illuminate your underground home or any structure that needed lighting for that matter.

There’s another 2 more ways to get it in a better way.
2. Trade with Journeyman-Level clerics
If you are in Survival mode, find a Village or a cleric villager in particular that is naturally spawned locked up in the basements of igloos (if the basement generates) under the carpet of the floor.
If you are in creative mode, make a fence and put a Villager inside.
Next, place a Brewing Stand near the villager and let them become a clergyman. You can see if it’s a clergyman when the villager has a purple robe.
Continue trading with him until he reaches a Journeyman-Level cleric.
Once, you have upgraded him to Journeyman, you will find the Glowstone Blocks Inside his inventory for 4 emeralds.
Put down the Glowstone Blocks in the ground and harvest them for the dust.
3. Nether
The third option is to go into the Nether.
They can be found on the underside of ceilings and overhangs.
Look around the ceiling and harvest the Glowstone Blocks above which yields 2–4 Glowstone dust.
They can also be found in the Bastian Remnants of the Minecraft 1.16 Update.
